Whether or not you've been lucky enough to spy one of 64 wild, practically pterodactyl-sized condors now gliding around the area, this family-friendly benefit gets you up close and personal with some other big birds and their keepers. Falconers will show off about 20 raptors, including peregrine falcons, gyr falcons, red-tailed hawks and coopers hawks. And if you don't get your fill of big-bird-watching, bid on prizes like a day with biologists as they release a condor back into the wild from the remote Big Sur condor sanctuary. The Ventana Wildlife Society toasts to the growing population of wild condors, and expects this fundraiser will get more up on their wings. [SR]
