This is year seven for the Big Sur International Short Film Screening Series, and the Henry Miller Memorial Library crew got an itch for some change. For the first time the screenings of short films in the series will be shown in another venue: Carmel's Outdoor Forest Theater takes on this distinction the nights of June 6, 13, and 20. The films will also be shown, as they have in previous years, at the Henry Miller Library in Big Sur on Thursdays. Each evening features 4 or 5 different films that are uncensored and best represent the art of filmmaking from the international community. $10 is the entrance fee for the evening. Concessions are available, but to get what HMML director Magnus Toren calls "the best popcorn in the world," you'll have to come down to the Big Sur screening on Thursday evening. Toren emcees and films start as soon as it's dark enough. Show up early for good seats. [GS]
