Country rock CB Brand is like method acting for John Huston's cowboy The Misfits, and Bell Gardens might have been the sound crew. CB Brand's LA country misfits, released their most recent album cassette only, and otherwise filter their music and photos through a misty and timely grain, before Chad Brown belts out music full of hard and lingering vowels, channeling from his unending catalog of soulful country. Bell Gardens adds their classic pop tones with vintage recording techniques and experimental sounds. [JB]
