Run in the Name of Love in Carmel

Humanoids and canines are invited to run or walk in honor of someone they love in Carmel's second annual Father's Day event, featuring a timed 5K run, and a 2K walk for people and their dogs. Participants are encouraged to submit a message or picture of their chosen honoree. First organized by fellow students of Carmel resident Brian James Love and continued by his mother, the event was held in honor of his inspiring life that ended in a snowboarding accident in 2005. The race begins at Sunset Center and finishes at the foot of Ocean Avenue. Proceeds go to Big Sur Marathon's youth fitness program, Just Run, and Sunset Center's arts education program, Classroom Connections. [DVD]
