Lighthouse Cinemas, in addition to screening regular run movies on its multiple screens, injects high culture into downtown Pacific Grove with its inclusion of the high definition live broadcasts of Opera in Cinema, Ballet in Cinema and Shakespeare in Cinema series of live broadcasts. This one comes courtesy of the Bolshoi Ballet. Alexei Ratmansky and Yuri Bulaka's re-imagination of Petipa's choreography of the 1856 masterwork Le Corsaire, about a young Greek girl who absconds to adventure with a dashing pirate, culminating in a dramatic shipwreck scene.
