A Farmboy Mantra at Western Stage

It takes a bold and sensitive observer to extract the ways in which family, class, culture and geography shape us, and local playwright and composer Thomas Burks is up to the task. In these nine short vignettes that trace a sprawling clan of farm folks from Texas oil country, the complex interactions between family members across generations bubble to the surface with blend of sensitivity and humor. The homegrown script, musical score, acting and directing are all the product of local Actors Collective artists. [SR]
