This contemporary take, adapted and directed by local theater and writing student Jourdain Barton, on the ancient Greek drama by Aeschylus concerns Prometheus, a Titan who is chained to a mountain in the Causasus by gods sent by Zeus, who is angered by Prometheus' act of giving fire to humans. What Zeus doesn't know is that Prometheus claims to have also bestowed on humans the gifts of writing, medicine, mathematics, architecture and agriculture—skills that can free them from the whims of the gods. Indeed, this story's heart is about tyranny and oppression, related to today's political climate. [WR]
