The Friends of the Big Sur Library invite the community to drive down to Big Sur this weekend for their annual book and bake sale. In true grassroots fashion the ovens of Big Sur's talented bakers will be working overtime to feed sweets to those perusing the selection of books for sale. Like the books, the baked goods will be reasonably priced so that all proceeds will go to help fund the only public library in Big Sur. The books, mostly donated to the booksellers to raise funds, will be up for grabs all Memorial Day weekend. This is a great time to find fiction, non-fiction, cookbooks, cookies, brownies, and tarts all in the same place. You might be able to find a good Big Sur trail guide to show where to hike after stopping in to buy some books and fill up on snacks. [GS]
