United Nations Association International Film Festival at Golden State Theatre

This is the 13th annual International Film Festival presented by the Monterey Bay Chapter of the United Nations Association. The 12 films for the evening are not for those who would like to keep blinders on and stay in comfort and complacency as pieces of society in our world crumble under the weight of war, economics, and oppression. This years films come from some of the world's most volatile powder kegs - Ethiopia, Kenya, Israel, and Palestine - while other films highlight awareness and concern in regions that are at times overlooked - Iceland and the USA. This is a four-day event, and each day features three diverse films, which is free for students and $5/day for everyone else. [GS]
