Friends of the Museum host a lecture by Jan Wagstaff, she lectures on her experience of painting from the realm of the senses.The Friends of the Museum is an organization of the Monterey Museum of Art. Their mission is to help people gain an appreciation for visual arts through volunteer service, fundraising, and programs. Wagstaff artwork shows imagery that derives from nature with a focus on grasses,waterways, birds in flight, reflections, aspen canopies. “My work is about the seasons, sounds, movement, and shapes and celebrating the ordinary such that it becomes extraordinary” is how Wagstaff describes her paintings.
