The new round of exhibitions features the big one: The Patrons' Show. Starting at the opening reception Oct. 26, donated works of art are raffled off on a one-ticket/one-work ratio so every ticket-holder is guaranteed a work of art at the drawing on Dec. 9. This is an awesome display of support from some of the most recognizable local names in art. That show is compounded in creativity by the accompanying exhibitions of Moments in Metal from the Monterey Bay Metal Arts Guild, now 50 members strong, from Big Sur to Santa Cruz; Katherine Moore's Monsters from the Deep reverse glass paintings, using an old European technique that predates oil painting; Carol Baker's similarly ancient painting technique that originated in Asia, transposed onto silk; and work from the Pacific Grove High School art students and the PGAC's Wednesday Flower Painting Group. And roiling outside on the P.G. streets, from 6-9pm, will be the final Wine, Art & Music Walk of the season. [WR]
