They’re in plain sight every day, but we might not even see them—the many homeless women on the streets we call home. “Becoming Visible: The Face of Homeless Women in Monterey County,” a multi-media event at Carmel’s Carl Cherry Center, funded by the Community Foundation for Monterey County and The Arts Council for Monterey County, will display arresting photos, beautiful videos and the moving stories of women living without shelter all around us. The show opens today and runs through Dec. 14, with public events along the way, including and artists’ panel Nov. 17, 2-4pm; a chaplains’ meeting Nov. 14 at noon; a benefit concert Dec. 9; and other events to be determined.
