Monterey Wine Walk on Cannery Row

As wine events start to clump on the calendar like bunches of grapes on the vine, here's something a little different. Each attending wine-goer gets 12 tasting tickets and a map with 25 atypical tasting spots like Mirror Maze, Bullwacker's, Sunglass Hut, Sand to Glass and Cannery Row Brewing Company, which in turn showcase wineries like De Tierra, Ventana, Tudor and Lockwood. The model is based on a popular Ventura version; this one starts at either check-in spot, Monterey Plaza Hotel and InterContinental, which also feature live music. A toast would be appropriate here, but maybe something fittingly different would be in order. [MCA]
