The “Scotty Wright Trio” performs at New Plaza Linda. Lead vocalist Scotty Wright has been a fixture playing around the Peninsula since the 1970’s. Down Beat Magazine describes his vocal ability as “comfortable with a wide range of jazz material..displaying a remarkable command of the material”. A veteran to the music industry, Wright has a unique sound that is rooted in jazz tradition. USA Today and The New York daily News listed his first recording “Too Much Fun” as one of the best jazz albums of the year. Having performed in 20 countries around the world, Wright also spends his time presenting and teaching classes, workshops, and writing for websites and magazines. The performance at Plaza Linda mainly focuses on his original compositions alongside a few classics. [BH]
