White Christmas at Western Stage

Irving Berlin reportedly thought his 1941 song "White Christmas" was a work of genius fully a decade before Bing Crosby and Paramount Pictures turned it into a seasonal sensation. The feel-good story about fellow veterans who rally to support a friend's failing ski lodge during an unseasonably warm winter is as timeless as Berlin's classic tunes sprinkled throughout. The writers never could've anticipated the timeliness of such a tale, as climate change throws more and more unpredictable weather our way. Though it will take more than a song to reverse that damage, a heartwarming victory story sounds inspiring right about now. [SR]
