There’s a lot of talk about teaching kids math and science these days, but what about art? There ought to be something soul nourishing to go along with all that brain food. Not to worry, the artistic tradition is alive and well in the participants of the Youth Arts Collective. The Holiday Art Show features the work of 60 artists and mentors who have created dazzling sculptures, paintings, sketches, and more. A special treat for opening night: the music of Keith Damron, a program alumni, and Ben Anderson, a current participant. Youth Arts Collective is a nonprofit arts studio and mentorship program for Monterey County artists ages 14 to 22.
