Not many know what California Arts Day is—a statewide initiative led by the National Endowment of the Arts in which multiple states and cities participate in a celebration of their native creativity—but luckily a few do. In Salinas it means a bigger, fuller First Friday Artwalk (lined with art, poetry, music, performance), and on the weekend, Artoberfest, the Salinas version of the Artists Studio Tour, with artist studios available for perusal all weekend.
