Missed the first signing of the California Constitution? No problem! Celebrate the 163rd anniversary of the constitutional convention with a live reenactment of the birth of our state at the hall in which it was initially founded. Local actors will be bringing back to life not only the signing itself, but the debates that determined the first state capital, who had the right to vote, and so much more. The script is based on actual records from the 1849 convention. Seating is limited for this event, reservations are recommended.
2:00-3:00 Sun Oct. 14. Colton Hal, 570 Pacific St., Monterey. Free. 646-5640. booker@ci.monterey.ca.us
