Sam Johnston and Camillo Ortiz are performing at Plaza Linda. Johnston and Ortiz both have had a passion for music since a young age. Johnston studied in clarinet and saxophone in the public school system in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In college is when he discovered his passion to play the flute. Ortiz studied music in his native homeland of Bogota, Colombia at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. While in the U.S Ortiz was able to receive a scholarship for the University of Arizona in Tucson from the classical guitar department. Ortiz Now lives in the city of Monterey and directs the music program “Pied Piper Music Academy” and performs classical guitar for different events. Johnston and Ortiz music is a blend of European and South American influences.
