Birdemic: Mystery Science Theater 3000 at Del Monte Cinemas

Birdemic is a modern cult horror film that the gentlemen of Mystery Science Theater 3000 (Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett) pick apart, live, for audiences nationwide. The MST3 team, take this homage to Hitchcock's "The Birds" and highlight the finer points of a film that took only $10,000 to make. The plot surrounds the relationship between a couple and how they come to find their town being attacked by vultures and eagles who spit acid and then explode into fireballs when they fly into the ground. Critics have put the "one of the worst movies ever made" label on Birdemic, which gives the MST3 guys fertile comedic ground to plow, that is until a bird engulfs it in flames. [GS]
