Family values gets twisted into dark and unseemly shapes in this play by Wendy McLeod, made into a taut film starring Parker Posey. Marty comes home for Thanksgiving with his new fiancee but has underlying trepidations over his dysfunctional family. And rightly so, especially concerning his unstable and jealous twin sister who insists on being called Jackie-O and wears the former First Lady's pink Chanel suit and hat. Marty teeters on the border of leaving behind his family's insular brand of craziness and choosing a saner and simpler life with his conventional lady. The play is an assault on bourgeoisie values, but what it offers as a replacement asks a steep price. [WR]
