The rich natural landscape and cultural diversity of Monterey County breeds a celebrated artist community that runs on local inspiration. In recognition of regional artists, the Monterey Conference Center hosts a diverse exhibit of paintings, photographs, sculptures, etches and even encaustic, or hot wax, paintings crafted by 2012 Monterey County Studio Tour participants. Each piece was influenced in a unique way by people, places, scenes or experiences found in the Monterey area. The exhibit opening provides the opportunity to meet the artists and listen to the motivation behind each masterpiece, while indulging in light refreshments and perusing the showcase. [HG]
