Otter 501 at Henry Miller Library

Shot and produced locally by Sea Studios, this hybrid documentary/dramatic film has two stars. Katie Pohfal is a 20-something aspiring ocean biologist (in real life and in the film) who takes the audience, through video journals, into the world of the other star, Otter 501, an orphan baby otter taken in by the Monterey Bay Aquarium to be raised by a surrogate mother otter. It's family friendly and informative stuff, with a pleasant aura of good works infusing a some scenic seascape shots. Folks involved in the making of the film as well as sea otter conservationists will be in attendance. [WR]
