Rufus Wainwright with Joanne Kyger at Henry Miller Memorial Library

'Tis the season for everyone who loves the Henry Miller Library to come out in support of its fundraising efforts. Rufus Wainwright comes to play a very small and intimate concert with a reading by Joanne Kyger. A recording artist with seven full-length albums to his name, Wainwright bring his tenor voice to the stage among the redwoods and under Big Sur's starry sky. He has been known to switch between the guitar and piano mid-performance, and whatever instruments he brings, the music promises to be eclectic and dreamy. Kyger, with strong ties to the Beat Generation poets, reads a selection of her own poems from her published works. Quite prolific, she has published more than 20 books of poetry and in 2008 was awarded the National Literary Award for Poetry. [GS]
