This speaking and booksigning engagement by 35 famous and not-so-famous authors and authorities from various industries, returns for the sixth year. New York Times op-ed columnist and contributor to The Newshour with Jim Lehrer, David Brooks was out here before to pick up an award from the Panetta Institute, and returns as one of the speakers. Harold Evans, Editor-at-Large at Thomas Reuters, is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the UK Press (and a knight, don't you know). Dr. Richard Haass is president of the Council on Foreign Relations and the author of 11 books on U.S. Foreign Policy. Kathryn Stockett is the author of the hit novel and subsequent movie The Help. And Donald Johanson is credited as "discovering the 3.2 million-year-old skeleton called 'Lucy.'" Other speakers guests include Dr. Ramon Resa, Martha Muna, Michael and Jessica Chow Shinn, Pico Iyer, Scott James, Taelen Thomas and others. Plus, the festival promises that the weekend will "exceed your every expectation." At $550, I hope so. [WR]
