Her book, The Real Wealth of Nations, has been praised by Archbishop Desmond Tutu as "a template for the better world” and by Jane Goodall as “a call to action.” Today in Carmel, international speaker and social scientist Dr. Riane Eisler speaks on the roadmap to a “new caring economics.” Her work has inspired the Caring Economy Campaign, which has won the support of 50 national organizations, trained speaker/organizers in 15 nations and gathered leading economists to develop Social Wealth Indicators (as opposed to the Gross National Product) as a measure of economic progress. Eisler is president of the Center for Partnership Studies, and her talk marks the first of the Unitarian Church’s 2013 cultural event series. [KA]
