Shows and Valentine Card Making at Carmel Art Association

Some boots were made for walkin’. Others, like the late Mike Donahue’s, were made for show. Donaue, a sculptor, created bronzes of fanciful boots and shoes, rich with whimsical detail. He’s one of several artists who will be featured at new Carmel Art Association show, which includes art from the association’s board of directors. Another artist memorialized is Carole Minou, a meticulous painter most known for her map of Carmel at Nielsen Bros. Market in the city. For the lovers, Sun. Feb 10 is a free Valentine Printmaking Workshop on how to make a hand-printed card. The event is from 1pm to 3pm.

Show goes Feb. 7-March 5. Opening Reception Feb. 9, 6-8pm. Carmel Art Association on Dolores Street between 5th and 6th Street. Open daily 10am-5pm. 624-6176, www.carmelart.org
