Dressed in hefty layers of R&B, funk, soul—and matching sequined suits with skinny ties—Zapp have been delivering unforgettable, sweat-laden live performances for more than 30 years. Under the leadership of Lester and Terry "Zapp" Troutman, the Dayton, Ohio group's catalog features Parliament-Funkadelic (longtime friends of the band and fellow Ohioians) flavored hits including "More Bounce to the Ounce", "Dance Floor" and "Computer Love." The band experienced a comeback in the mid-90s after Roger lent his infamous talkbox (not to be confused with the vocoder) stylings to 2Pac's"California Love." Special guest Malo, opens. [AJ]
8:30pm. Planet Gemini, 2110 N. Fremont St., Monterey. $20. 373-1449.
