Flutist Johnston and guitarist Ortiz performing an eclectic mix of music from Europe and South America. Johnston and Ortiz have a repertoire that spans many styles, including compositions originally written for flute and guitar, as well as adaptations of works written for other instruments. Ortiz graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Arizona in Tucson from guitar department. He won second and third prize respectively at William Wolfe Award and Schaeffer also participated in several competition wining. Recently, he was awarded first prize at the 2009 Carmel classical guitar society competition in Carmel. In 2007, he joined Royal King Academy as teacher and director of the music program. In 2008, Ortiz was promoted to coordinator of the Monterey County for Royal kind which his work has been documented and broadcasted by local television, two radio show and by the best practices of the Monterey county office of education.
