Focus the Region started in 2008 as an all-day teach-in examining the local impacts and solutions to climate change. The theme for this sixth annual event is “Systems and Sustainability,” tapping into the connections between the social, economic and environmental aspects of our world. Speakers include MIIS Public Administration Professor Beryl Levinger, author and international ecological-design pioneer Sim Van der Ryn, and York University Environmental Studies Dean Noël Sturgeon. Check out electric vehicles on display and exhibitors including Monterey Bay’s greenest nonprofits. Vegetarian lunch provided; please bring your own plate/utensils.
