Golden State Theatre is on fire. Not literally, thank God. But with music. It's also fortified its occasional vaudeville show put on by actors from the Alternative Cafe days with the addition of new director Jim Dultz—set designer for some of The Muppets TV series, Team America: World Police, the 2006 MTV Movie Awards and What Dreams May Come (for which Dultz was nominated for an Oscar) starring Robin Williams—who also brings in L.A. talents choreographer Gilmore Rizzo and pianist/foley artist Brain Miller. The next vaudeville show, which Grover says was the original entertainment on the 87-year-old theater's stage, is today, with more than 20 bits lined up, including comedy, skits and musical interludes, done quicker, more professionally, with more well-staged people on deck.
