The first Independent Marketplace of the year focuses on "Rejuvenating Mind, Body and Soul," with its usual assortment of boutique and independent purveyors of all things nourishing and stylish, but most especially with the presence of Esalen Institute, which this month's marketplace benefits. Esalen will "celebrate movement, dance, sustainability, body-work and massage" and in the gallery space one of their staff will lead a 1-hour yoga session away from the fray. Vendors that make the gathering special include Cruz N Gourmet and India Gourmet food trucks (mmmm), Jade Shack, Marilee Childs (essential oils), Lyceum of Monterey, Caraccioli Cellar, Post No Bills, Simply Straws, Fish Princess Soaps and more. This concept has really caught on and it's fitting that they're focusing in the new year on being sustainable and flexible. [WR]
