Midnight Thieves' new EP, coming soon, leads with the single "Overcome Your Fear," a tough rock song with a warm message that cranks up the instruments loud enough to rattle amps. It's not coy. It's straight rock, done with touches of youthful indie earnestness. Their "Waking at Dawn" is more post-New Wave punk, lead by squealing guitar like a messier Buzzcocks. Mike PZ plays a solo set of his classic rock and blended country and soul music to open. This is a fundraiser show for Jesus Flores, grandfather of Mike PZ, a longtime county resident who is fighting colon cancer.
