Photographer Jean Brenner has traveled to and photographed Islamic countries in Asia and Africa for more than a decade. She's exhibited her work at a few local venues including the Pacific Grove Art Center. Here her work, colorful and personable portraits, is displayed solo Jan. 9 through Feb. 11, but on Jan. 16 Rev. John Buehrens will talk in conjunction with the exhibit on the topic "What You Don't Know About Islam," followed by comments from Brenner. It's an immersion into a powerful and influential force in human history, made personal.
