Jazz musician Bill Minor has written a memoir about his life growing up in Detroit, in the realms of jazz music and ice hockey and girls, buoyed by and charged with the weight his family's ancestry. This book launching party is actually a party, with Minor playing piano and joined by singer Jaqui Hope and bassist Heath Proskin. (See Lit story.) [WR]
