First Annual Big Sur Foragers Festival

Here come the "foraging with friends" adventure at Big Sur Bakery and a forager's barbecue at the lodge. That's day one—followed on Saturday by mushroom missions in the redwoods, a “Fungus Face-Off” chef showdown with around a half-dozen more participants like Carmel Valley Ranch, Coast Gallery and Treebones (plus a range of local wineries) and a culminating dinner at Restaurant at Ventana with Truman Jones and Americano Restaurant’s Kory Stewart. Fittingly enough, fungophiles shouldn't struggle to forage a good time, though moist folks in the know will watch closely to see how its inaugural transitions over from the Chanterelle Cook-off era.
