This exhibition showcases 49 of the best contemporary photographs from more than 1,000 submissions, sifted through by jurors Dean Brierly, editor of B&W magazine and former managing editor of Camera & Darkroom magazine, and Christ Johnson, full professor of photography at the California College of the Arts, whose work has been in the Smithsonian and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. The works represent experiments, trends and currents coursing through the photography world—Monterey County artists include Patricia Addleman, Martha Casanave, Susan Hyde Greene, Michelle Magdalena Maddox, Robertson parkman, Jody Royee, Jack Wasserbach and Cara Weston—and are presented at this Scandanavian Smorgasbord themed opening reception on Saturday, Jan. 12.
