New Exhibits at Carmel Art Association

This March, the Carmel Art Association will be displaying the graceful paintings of three local artists. Daria Shachmut, a new member at the CAA, will be participating in her first (beefy) solo exhibit. Since moving to Carmel, Shachmut has become fascinated by Hereford cattle; in her paintings, she tries to depict the animals' unique personalities and temperaments. The work of Jan Wagstaff and Richart Tette will also be on display, as part of the March Gallery Showcase. Tette's landscapes are realistic depictions that capture the heart of California's light and color, while Wagstaff's more whimsical works focus on the movement and hue of water. [DLG]
