Bach & Forth in Monterey County

Over the course of three days, the Camerata Singers, like traveling troubadours, will perform a program of their glorious singing in three different venues, accompanied by seven high school students of their Camerata Futures program. The program: J.S. Bach's "Christ lag in Todesbanden, BWV 4," " John Corigliano's "Fern Hill" featuring local mezzo-soprano Linda Purdy, Jefferson DeMarco's "Kyrie Passamezzo Antico," and Peteris Vasks' "Dona Nobis Pacem." The times, days and venues: 7:30pm Friday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church (1071 Pajaro St., Salinas), 7:30pm Saturday at San Carlos Cathedral (500 Church St., Monterey), and 3pm Sunday at First United Methodist Church (915 Sunset Dr., Pacific Grove). It's going to be a heavenly weekend. [WR]
