Scan Peninsula streets and you'll see hundreds of soldiers in uniform driving around town. No one knows for sure how many of their cars were purchased locally, but one thing is clear: starting next year 31,000 soldiers and dependents from Fort Ord will be heading for Fort Lewis, Washington and out of the local car-buying public.
