Brown Act violations yield action by the District Attorney against Seaside's mayor.

The Monterey County District Attorney's office on Wednesday filed criminal charges against Seaside Mayor Lance McClair, alleging that McClair violated the provisions of the state's Brown Act open-meeting requirements when he held a closed, unadvertised meeting with two city council members on Nov. 10.
