Payback on the Peninsula
Seaside gets a new DoD accounting office.
Thursday, May 5, 1994
Some said it was payoff time for Seaside this week. One day after the controversial SB899 passed the state legislature, the Department of Defense (DoD) announced the city would be the site of a new Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) satellite office, a branch of the military's accounting system that will create 750 new jobs with an annual payroll of $22.5 million.
