Going South?
Salinas merchants say more could be done to boost South Main.

Once a thriving artery for retailers, now a growing number of store fronts on Salinas' South Main Street now stand empty. Ole Frijole at 838 South Main and Dominoes Pizza at 908 South Main closed their doors within the last three months, going the way of Woolworth's and the old Standard Brands hardware the year before.
