Not so Fast?
Methyl bromide ban could be extended.

In Washington, Assistant Majority Whip Dan Miller R-Fla, has proposed legislation which, if passed, could give Monterey County's $150 million strawberry industry an indefinite extension on the 2001 phase-out date for its use of methyl bromide, a highly toxic soil fumigant widely used in strawberry farming and considered by experts to be harmful to the ozone layer.
