With Labor Day over and election season officially underway, Peninsula voters can bet on a whole lot of ink, rhetoric and dollars being waged in the battle over building the New Los Padres Dam. And at least some of those skirmishes will be fought over funding the 24,000 acre-foot project, with critics questioning premises about how dollars will be raised, how much users will pay--and whether the dam itself is worth the cost.
