Safety violations at the Castroville Seawater Intrusion Project prompt a stop-work order.

The Monterey County Water Resources Agency issued a stop work order on the Castroville Seawater Intrusion Plant (CSIP) earlier this month after a crane operator smacked an overhead power line with the long arm of his rig. No one was hurt, but as shocking as that incident may seem, it was the fourth such accident that has occurred since the project broke ground late last year.
