Commuters want incentives to forgo driving.

Monterey County drivers would consider giving up driving alone to work, if there was an incentive to do so. That's what the Transportation Agency of Monterey County (TAMC) found after assessing the results of close to 10,000 surveys collected in December at about a dozen different "traffic centers," places such as Ryan Ranch, Salinas, Cannery Row, Carmel, Pacific Grove and downtown Monterey.
