Apathy at the Polls
Thursday, October 1, 1998
Despite the many significant issues facing California and the major political and ideological differences between Gray Davis and Dan Lungren, the two opponents in our gubernatorial race, we were hard pressed to find anyone who even knew the names of the candidates. Get with it, Monterey County!

What issues should our prospective governors focus on? They should find out and act on what the people want-not the party line.
Will the candidates'' views on abortion influence your vote? I don''t believe that any one issue should be the reason someone is elected.
Will President Clinton''s problems affect your choice? It''s made me lose interest in both parties.
