It''s federal tax time again, and whether you''re dishing out cash to Uncle Sam or anxiously awaiting a refund, the deadline is at hand. That got us thinking about taxes in general. Where does all the money go? Are our tax dollars being used efficiently? Here''s what some locals had to say.

Do you know where your tax dollars are going? No, I don''t know where all of it goes, but they take too much out.
How do you see your tax dollars benefiting Monterey County? I''m concerned with the school system. I''d like to see tax dollars going into education.

Where would you like to see more tax dollars go? To the renovation of local schools. In Monterey, they''re pretty bad.

Do you know where your tax dollars are going? Some, such as the police, city people, education. Well, they say it goes there, anyway.
Do you see any examples of your tax dollars at work locally? Schools and community care. I think we''re pretty fortunate compared to the rest of California.
