Everyone who works travels daily by cruising in a car, riding a bike, walking, or taking the bus. We caught up with some locals who shared their thoughts on their adventures in commuting.

How far would you travel to work? I would drive two minutes from my house.
Would you travel further if you had to? Not a chance.
How about carpooling, riding a bike, or walking? You''re not getting me out of my car.
Brenda Schonert
Age: 28 Occupation: Medical secretary
Resides: Salinas
How far do you travel to work? About 20 miles. I work in Monterey.
How far would you be willing to commute to work? I''ve worked in San Jose before, and that''s about 70 miles away. I would do it again if I had to.
Would you consider other forms of travel? Yes, but I couldn''t ride a bike to work, and I''ve never carpooled.
Do you sing in your car? No, I just listen to the radio.

How far do you travel to work? About five miles. I would travel further, but up to 30 minutes away from home is best.
How do you get to work? I always use public transportation.
Would you use other ways to get around? I couldn''t bicycle, but I would consider carpooling.
How enjoyable are your rides? They''re fun. I have a comfortable ride.
Do you sing or do other activities while riding the bus? Not really. We just hold on for our dear lives.
